Let op: deze 'special edition' is eenmalig niet op de laatste vrijdag de maand, maar op vrijdag 2 mei. De Portugese Fado-Folk Session in maart was overweldigend druk, dus we doen het nog eens over met een EXTRA speciale avond vol Portugese wereldmuziek!

Jorge da Rocha is een artiest die zich niet gemakkelijk laat classificeren. Hij mengt wereldmuziek met een alternatief randje en subtiele vleugjes jazz.
Diep beïnvloed door Portugese muzikale tradities, versmelt hij de klanken van zijn thuisland met wereldwijde volksritmes en een vleugje jazz. In deze one-man show gebruikt hij een unieke benadering van de contrabas - een combinatie met stem, elektrische gitaar en live-looping - om rauwe, meeslepende en droomachtige soundscapes te creëren die het publiek over de hele wereld meevoeren.
De Portugese artiest heeft drie albums uitgebracht en werkt momenteel aan Lartic Soundtracks Vol. 1, een verzameling van zijn instrumentale composities voor soundtracks. Zijn reis bracht hem naar optredens in Portugal en Spanje, evenals in tal van Europese landen, waaronder Duitsland, België, Luxemburg, Nederland, Zweden, Finland, Italië, Hongarije en Roemenië. Buiten Europa heeft hij zijn muziek laten horen in Hong Kong, Bolivia en Tokio.

Jorge da Rocha is an artist who defies easy classification, blending world music with an alternative edge and subtle hints of jazz.
Deeply influenced by Portuguese musical traditions, he fuses the sounds of his homeland with global folk rhythms and a touch of jazz. In this one-man show, he takes a unique approach to the double bass—combining it with voice, electric guitar, and live-looping—to create raw, immersive, and dreamlike soundscapes that transport audiences around the world.
The Portuguese artist has released three albums and is currently working on Lartic Soundtracks Vol. 1, a collection of his instrumental compositions for soundtracks. His journey has taken him to perform in Portugal and Spain, as well as in numerous European countries, including Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Hungary, and Romania. Outside of Europe, he has showcased his music in Hong Kong, Bolivia, and Tokyo.

Let op: voor de Folk Sessions kun je vooraf niet reserveren. Er is beperkte zitgelegenheid, dus kom op tijd voor een goed plekje.
Het is wel mogelijk om te reserveren voor het eten vooraf, maar vanwege de aanvangstijd (20.00u) wordt er na 19.30u géén diner van de Pasta Family meer geserveerd in het café.
